running in hyderabad

If you are in or going to be in the Hyderabad area, here’s my running suggestions:

Places I ran:

Sanjeeviah ParkĀ

It opens at 8 a.m. for the public, but 5:30 a.m. for walkers/runners and is 5 rupees to enter. They had a variety of dirt and paved path. Check out my previous blog post about it here.

Hussain Sagar drive.

There is a shaded, curvy trail that goes along the Buddha statue. It will also get you to Lumbini park, just south of the statue. The yellow road is where the park resides along.

Other suggestions:

Everyone I met who lives in Hyderabad suggested I run at KBR park. I was staying north of hyderabad, in Secunderabad, so I didn’t have time to venture this far, but Hyderabad Runners, a club, meets there a few times each week. If you’re solo traveling, like me, meeting fellow runners can be a fun experience. Their website also has a list of suggested running loops in the city and local races.
